Description
The Zaffiri Precision Blowhole is a steel compensator shaped to follow the slide profile of the Glock 43, 43X, and 48. Zaffiri built it to reduce muzzle climb through both gas redirection and added weight at the muzzle, which is why it is machined from 17-4 stainless rather than aluminum. It threads onto a 1/2×28 barrel and is locked with set screws and the included Vibra-Tite Red 131 thread locker; there is no crush washer or shim. A threaded barrel is required. The threaded barrels we carry for the 43, 43X, and 48 from Zaffiri, SilencerCo, Backup Tactical, and True Precision are the starting point; Zaffiri says the comp is designed to fit best with its own slides and barrels.
Zaffiri finishes it in black nitride and ships it with thread locker, set screws, and an installation tool. Zaffiri states installation should be done by a competent gunsmith. On springs, Zaffiri says compensators may require a different recoil spring assembly weight depending on the ammunition you use, and does not publish a specific weight. At 2.16 ounces it is noticeably heavier than the aluminum comps for the same pistols.
Fitment: Glock 43, 43X, and 48 in 9mm. Zaffiri says it is not compatible with SIG pistols, and it will not fit the Glock 17 and 19 (Zaffiri makes a separate Blowhole for those). Zaffiri notes the comp’s styling may not match the factory G48 “bob cut” nose. A comp changes holster fit.

Who it’s for
43X and 48 shooters who want a steel comp with some muzzle weight, for PCSL 2-Gun, Tactical Games, or a carry gun, especially if the pistol already wears a Zaffiri slide or barrel.
Who should skip it
If you want the lightest option, the aluminum Faxon EXOS-533 weighs less than half as much. If you are not comfortable with the gunsmith install Zaffiri calls for, or you do not want to experiment with recoil springs, look at the True Precision S Micro, which installs hand tight. USPSA Production and Carry Optics and IDPA SSP and CO do not allow compensators; IDPA CCP and ESP rules vary, check the rulebook.
