Description
The Ruger SR22 threaded barrel kit is the factory way to put a suppressor or muzzle device on a standard SR22. Ruger built it so an owner of the 3.5 in SR22 can swap to a threaded barrel without buying the factory threaded model or sending the gun to a gunsmith. Ruger states the barrel change is quick with no gunsmithing required, and the kit ships with the adapter and wrench needed to do the swap.
Ruger describes the barrel as a factory-manufactured stainless steel barrel for proper fit and function, and it is left in a stainless finish rather than black. The muzzle is cut 1/2×28 (Class 2A), which Ruger says accepts any 1/2×28 muzzle device including its own Silent-SR rimfire suppressor. A barrel cap (thread protector), the barrel adapter and the wrench are in the box. One thing to know: rimfire suppressors collect lead and carbon fast, so plan on cleaning the threads and cap more often than you would on a centerfire gun.
Fitment: Ruger lists the kit as compatible with Ruger SR22 pistols bearing serial numbers 361-7XXXX and higher. It is a 3.5 in barrel, so it is meant for the standard SR22, not as a replacement for the 4.5 in factory threaded model. If your SR22 has an earlier serial prefix, check with Ruger before buying.

Who it’s for
SR22 owners who want to run a rimfire can on a training or plinking gun, and Steel Challenge or rimfire side match shooters who want a factory-fit threaded barrel instead of an aftermarket one.
Who should skip it
If your SR22 already has the 4.5 in factory threaded barrel, you do not need this. If your serial number is below the range Ruger lists, confirm fit with Ruger first. Shooters who only want a bare stainless look on a black gun should know the kit barrel is stainless, not black. And if you are also chasing a threaded rimfire pistol for a Walther P22, that gun does not need a new barrel at all; the Dead Air or SilencerCo P22 thread adapters we carry convert its factory M8x0.75 muzzle to 1/2×28.
