Description

The True Precision True-Lock compensator is a single chamber comp for the SIG P365 family that threads onto any 1/2×28 threaded barrel. True Precision built it around an integrated locking block: thread the comp on, time it, then tighten the block against the barrel threads with the included hardware. True Precision states this holds without thread locking compound and comes off without damaging the barrel or threads, which makes swapping devices simple. You need a threaded barrel to use it; the factory P365 barrel is not threaded.

True Precision machines the body from USA-sourced 7075 T6 billet aluminum with a MIL-SPEC Type III hard coat anodized finish. The port is cut at a six to one port to bore ratio to push gas up and cut muzzle rise. True Precision lists it at 1.200 inches long, 0.905 inches wide and 1.291 inches tall, so it adds a little over an inch to the front of the slide. The box includes the compensator body, locking block, hardware and Allen keys. True Precision recommends a recoil spring tuning kit to get the pistol cycling cleanly with the comp, and notes that its warranty does not cover use with non-SAAMI ammunition.

Fitment: True Precision lists the P365, P365 Micro, P365X, P365 XL, P365 X-Macro and P365 Fuse, in each case with a 1/2×28 threaded barrel installed. The comp does not care which barrel brand you use as long as the thread is 1/2×28. It does not apply to the X-Macro Comp or Fuse Comp, which already have a factory compensated barrel and slide. A holster cut for a standard P365 will not close around the comp.

Matching threaded barrels: Faxon Match Series Straight Fluted Threaded Barrel (SIG P365, 9mm, 1/2×28, Black Nitride); True Precision Threaded Barrel (SIG P365, 9mm, 1/2×28, Black Nitride); Zaffiri Precision Threaded Barrel (SIG P365, 9mm, 1/2×28, Black Nitride); Faxon Match Series Straight Fluted Threaded Barrel (SIG P365 XL, 9mm, 1/2×28, Black Nitride); True Precision Threaded Barrel (SIG P365 Fuse, 9mm, 1/2×28, Black Nitride).

Who it’s for

P365 family owners who already have or are buying a 1/2×28 threaded barrel and want a comp for PCSL, Tactical Games, or USPSA Limited Optics and Open, where a compensator on a micro compact is legal.

Who should skip it

If your P365 still has the factory barrel, buy a threaded barrel first: the True Precision P365, Zaffiri P365, Faxon P365 XL and True Precision Fuse barrels on this site all carry the 1/2×28 thread. If you shoot USPSA Production or Carry Optics, a compensator is not allowed, so skip it and keep the thread protector on. If your holster is molded for a bare P365 slide, plan on a new holster or an open muzzle design.
