Description
The Rival Arms Precision drop-in threaded barrel replaces the factory Glock 17 Gen 3 or Gen 4 barrel and adds 1/2×28 threads for a suppressor or compensator. Rival Arms describes it as a match-grade barrel and states it needs no gunsmith fitting in a factory slide. Rival builds, machines, and sources its barrels in the United States and covers them with a limited lifetime warranty.
Rival Arms CNC machines it from 416R stainless steel billet with six-groove rifling in a one in ten twist and a target-crowned muzzle behind the threads. The outside gets a low-temperature vacuum PVD coating in black, and the bore gets what Rival calls BORSLICK, a boron nitride treatment the company says resists heat and carbon buildup. A color-matched Rival Arms thread protector ships with every threaded barrel.
Fitment: Glock 17 Gen 3 and Gen 4. Rival Arms sells a separate Gen 5 version, and this one will not drop into a Gen 5 G17 slide because the hood and lug profile differ. Like every aftermarket Glock barrel, fit in aftermarket slides is not guaranteed.
Pairs with: Faxon EXOS-513 Compensator (Glock 17, 19, 34 Gen 3 and FX-19, 9mm, 1/2×28, Black); Sylvan Arms 9mm Compensator (Glock Style Slide Match, 1/2×28, Black); Strike Industries Mass Driver Compensator (Glock 17 Gen 3, 9mm, Guide Rod Mount, Black; Gen 3 slides only).

Who it’s for
Gen 3 and Gen 4 G17 shooters who want a stainless match barrel with threads for a comp or can, which points at Limited Optics, Open, PCSL, and Tactical Games.
Who should skip it
It sits at the top of the Gen 3/4 G17 lineup on cost, so if you just need threads, the Faxon Duty Series barrel does the job for a lot less, and the True Precision Gen 1-4 barrel is a comparable stainless option that also covers Gen 1 and 2. Gen 5 owners need the Ballistic Advantage or SilencerCo Gen 5 barrel. USPSA Production and Carry Optics do not allow a threaded barrel with a device attached, so the threads only pay off in Limited Optics, Open, PCSL, or Tactical Games.
