The cheapest part in the JP-5 that can end a stage. A tired extractor spring lets the case slip the extractor, and the symptom looks like a bad extractor when a seven-dollar spring is the fix.
JP sells the spring singly (this listing) and in a three-pack. For a shooter running PCC every weekend, the sensible buy is a couple of singles in the bag and one in the gun.
One thing to know: JP lists it for the JP-5 and the H&K MP5. Non-H&K clones should be checked for H&K-standard parts before buying.
The trade-off is that a spring alone will not fix a chipped extractor. If the extractor hook is damaged, the extractor kit is the right part.
