The JP Enterprises .223 Enhanced Gas Ring is a one-piece replacement for the standard three-piece gas ring set on an AR-15 bolt. It installs in the same ring groove on the bolt and is precision-ground to fit mil-spec bolts as well as the JP EnhancedBolt.
The one-piece, three-layer design is built to balance a solid gas seal against low friction between the ring and the bolt carrier interior. JP states that the lower friction widens the rifle's operational window, which helps on setups running reduced gas or a suppressor. The ring edge also scrapes the carrier wall as the action cycles, which helps shed carbon fouling during use.
This part is compatible with AR-15 platform bolts chambered in 5.56 NATO, .223 Remington, and 300 Blackout. It is a direct replacement and requires no modification. Made in the USA.
