Description

The Ruger-5.7 threaded barrel kit is Ruger’s factory answer for owners who want to hang a suppressor or compensator on a Ruger-57. Ruger built it as a direct swap for the standard barrel and states that installing it is quick and easy with no gunsmithing required. The kit includes the adapter and wrench you need to do the job at the bench.

Ruger describes the barrel as a factory-manufactured alloy steel barrel for proper fit and function, and the muzzle is cut 1/2×28 (Class 2A), the same pitch used on most 9mm and 22 LR muzzle devices. A thread protector ships in the kit. One thing to know: 5.7×28 runs at higher pressure and velocity than 9mm, so confirm your suppressor or comp is rated for the cartridge before you thread it on. Not every 9mm pistol can is.

Fitment: Ruger lists this kit as compatible with the Ruger-5.7 pistol. It is a Ruger part, so it will not fit the FN Five-seveN, the PSA Rock, or any other 5.7×28 pistol. If you own a Ruger-5.7 variant that already came with a threaded barrel, you do not need this kit.

Who it’s for

Ruger-5.7 owners who want a factory-fit threaded barrel for a suppressor or compensator, and PCSL or Tactical Games shooters running the Ruger-5.7 who want a muzzle device without an aftermarket barrel.

Who should skip it

If your pistol is not a Ruger-5.7, this kit will not fit it. If you only want the threads to mount a comp for a USPSA gun, note that Production and Carry Optics do not allow a threaded barrel with a device attached, so you would be moving to Limited Optics or Open; PCSL and Tactical Games do allow compensators. Shooters on a budget who already have a threaded 9mm pistol will get more use from a 1/2×28 thread protector such as the GrovTec or Backup Tactical Frag we carry than from a second threaded gun.
