Description

The Apex Action Enhancement Kit is a three-part drop-in upgrade for Gen 3 and Gen 4 Glock pistols in 9mm, .40 S&W and .357 SIG. Apex built it to take the slack and grit out of the factory trigger without changing how the gun’s safeties work. It replaces the factory trigger and trigger bar, the connector and the firing pin safety plunger; the factory trigger housing and springs stay in the gun. Apex lists it as a direct drop-in with no fitting required, and it goes in with the same punch you would use to pull the trigger pin and locking block pin.

Apex states the kit will reduce trigger pull weight by approximately one pound, shorten pre-travel, overall travel and reset distance, and give a smooth uptake and reset with a crisp trigger break. The shoe is a black anodized aluminum body in Apex’s Classic style: flat face, radiused front corners, flat sides with no face cuts, and a center-mounted pivoting safety blade in place of the factory hinged trigger. In the box: the Action Enhancement Trigger already pinned to a Gen 3 trigger bar (Apex says the bar finish may be matte or bright nickel), an Apex Performance Connector, and an Apex Ultimate Safety Plunger. Apex states the center-mounted pivoting safety maintains factory safety values, so the trigger safety, firing pin safety and drop safety all remain in play.

Fitment: Gen 3 and Gen 4 Glock 17, 17L, 19, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27, 31, 32, 33, 34 and 35, MOS or not. It will NOT fit Gen 5 or Gen 6 pistols, the 10mm and .45 caliber frames (G20, G21, G29, G30, G37, G38, G39, G40, G41), or the slimline G42, G43, G43X and G48. Apex certifies it for factory Glock frames only and does not recommend it in aftermarket frames such as the PSA Dagger; Apex also says it is not for Shadow Systems pistols and has not been tested in the Ruger RXM. Apex states the kit is not for use with any forced reset trigger system.

Also in the Pro Shop: Timney Alpha for Gen 3-4, Tyrant CNC I.T.T.S. for Gen 3-4, threaded barrels for Glock.

Who it’s for

Gen 3 and Gen 4 Glock shooters in USPSA Production, Carry Optics, Limited and Limited Optics, Steel Challenge, PCSL and the Tactical Games who want a lighter, shorter Glock trigger that still feels like a Glock and keeps every factory safety.

Who should skip it

If your Glock is a Gen 5 or a slimline 43X or 48, this kit will not fit; Apex makes separate Gen 5 and slim frame kits and we carry both. Thing to know: a pound off a factory Glock pull still leaves you around four and a half pounds, which is a range and carry trigger, not a two pound race trigger, so if you want the lightest pull you can get, look at the Timney Alpha for Gen 3 and 4 or the Tyrant CNC I.T.T.S. instead. A lighter aftermarket trigger is also a range and competition part; many agencies and some instructors say no for duty or carry guns. If you would rather keep every part Glock, the factory Glock Performance Trigger is the other route, but Apex says its kit cannot be combined with it. Division check: aftermarket triggers are legal in USPSA Carry Optics, Limited, Limited Optics, Open and Production; USPSA Production has no minimum pull weight and allows aftermarket triggers under rule 21.6, but read the current rulebook before a match. IDPA SSP and CO require factory or IDPA-listed replacement parts, so check the IDPA equipment rules. PCSL and the Tactical Games do not restrict triggers.
