Description

The Apex Action Enhancement Kit for slim frame Glocks is a two-part drop-in upgrade for the Glock 43, 43X and 48. Apex built it to clean up the long, spongy factory trigger on the single-stack and slimline guns without touching the safeties. It replaces the factory trigger and trigger bar and the factory connector; the trigger housing, firing pin safety plunger and springs stay in the gun. Apex lists it as a direct drop-in with no fitting, and the whole job is one trigger pin and one locking block pin.

Apex describes the result as a clean rolling break at approximately four and a half pounds, with reduced pre-travel, overall travel and reset distance and a smooth uptake and reset. The shoe is a black anodized aluminum body in Apex’s Classic style: flat face, radiused front corners, flat sides, with a center-mounted pivoting safety blade. In the box: the Action Enhancement Trigger already installed on an Apex trigger bar and an Apex Performance Connector. There is no safety plunger in the slim frame kit. Apex states the center-mounted pivoting safety maintains factory safety values, and says it drop-tested the kit from six feet in twenty-seven orientations plus hot and cold extremes. Apex machines it in Phoenix, Arizona.

Fitment: Glock 43, 43X and 48 only, including MOS. It will NOT fit the Glock 42, and Apex states it does not function in the PSA Dagger Micro because that gun’s trigger bar geometry is different. Not for Shadow Systems pistols, and not for any standard frame Glock (those need Apex’s Gen 3/4 or Gen 5 kits). Apex states it is not for use with any forced reset trigger system.

Also in the Pro Shop: Tyrant CNC I.T.T.S. for the 43, 43X and 48, threaded barrels for Glock.

Who it’s for

Glock 43X and 48 shooters in USPSA Carry Optics and Production, IDPA BUG and CCP (check the equipment rules), PCSL and the Tactical Games who want a shorter, cleaner trigger in a carry-size gun and want it to look stock.

Who should skip it

If you carry the gun, think about the four and a half pound rolling break before you buy; some instructors and most agencies say no to any aftermarket trigger in a carry pistol. This kit does not fit the G42, a Gen 3 through 5 G19, or a PSA Dagger Micro. If you want the same feel for less money, Apex’s polymer slim frame kit lists the same four and a half pound figure, and the Type 3 version of this kit adds machined face cuts for the same price class. We also carry the Tyrant CNC I.T.T.S. for the 43, 43X and 48. Division check: aftermarket triggers are legal in USPSA Carry Optics, Limited, Limited Optics, Open and Production; USPSA Production has no minimum pull weight and allows aftermarket triggers under rule 21.6, but read the current rulebook. IDPA SSP, CO, CCP and BUG require factory or IDPA-listed replacement parts, so check the IDPA equipment rules. PCSL and the Tactical Games do not restrict triggers.
