Description
The Apex Type 3 Action Enhancement Kit is the slim frame Apex kit with a different shoe profile. Apex calls its plain shoe the Classic; the Type 3 has chamfered front corners and decorative machined cuts across the visible sides, so the trigger looks less like a factory part. Everything behind the shoe is the same two-part drop-in: it replaces the factory trigger and trigger bar plus the factory connector in a Glock 43, 43X or 48, and it reuses the factory trigger housing, safety plunger and springs. Apex lists no fitting required.
Apex describes a clean rolling break at approximately four and a half pounds, with reduced pre-travel, overall travel and reset distance and a smooth uptake and reset. The Type 3 shoe is black anodized aluminum with a flat face and a center-mounted pivoting safety blade. In the box: the Type 3 Action Enhancement Trigger installed on an Apex trigger bar and an Apex Performance Connector. No safety plunger is included in the slim frame kits. Apex states the center-mounted pivoting safety maintains factory safety values, and says it drop-tested the design from six feet in twenty-seven orientations and at temperature extremes. Fitment: Glock 43, 43X and 48 only, MOS included. It will NOT fit the Glock 42, and Apex states it does not function in the PSA Dagger Micro. Not for Shadow Systems pistols and not for standard frame Glocks of any generation. Apex states it is not for use with any forced reset trigger system.

Who should skip it
The Type 3 cuts are cosmetic; Apex lists the same pull and travel for the Classic shoe, so if you do not care about the look, the Classic black kit is the same trigger. If you carry the gun, know that four and a half pounds is lighter than factory and many agencies and instructors do not allow aftermarket triggers in a carry pistol. It does not fit the G42 or the PSA Dagger Micro. For a lower price, Apex’s polymer slim frame kit lists the same four and a half pound figure, and we carry the Tyrant CNC I.T.T.S. for the 43, 43X and 48 as well. Division check: aftermarket triggers are legal in USPSA Carry Optics, Limited, Limited Optics, Open and Production; USPSA Production has no minimum pull weight and allows aftermarket triggers under rule 21.6, but read the current rulebook. IDPA SSP, CO, CCP and BUG require factory or IDPA-listed replacement parts, so check the IDPA equipment rules. PCSL and the Tactical Games do not restrict triggers.
