Description
Faxon’s Match Series barrel for the Glock 17 Gen 5 is a drop-in replacement with two things the factory barrel does not have: 1/2×28 threads for a comp or suppressor, and Faxon’s flame fluting, which cuts weight and adds surface area for cooling without touching the bore. It is button rifled with a conventional 1:10 twist, so it runs cast lead and coated bullets as well as jacketed, which matters if you reload for practice volume.
The barrel is stress-relieved 416R stainless steel, finished in salt bath nitride inside and out, with an 11 degree target crown. Faxon cuts a SAAMI 9mm chamber, so factory ammo and reloads feed without the tight-chamber issues some match barrels have. It drops into a factory Gen 5 slide with no gunsmithing. Faxon makes it in Greater Cincinnati, Ohio under ISO 9001 and AS9100 certification and backs it with a lifetime guarantee against defects.
Fitment: Gen 5 G17 slides. Faxon notes that units built from job number 16477 onward include the Gen 6 relief cut and fit Gen 5 and Gen 6; earlier units are Gen 5 only. Faxon also lists a known incompatibility with Zaffiri Precision ZPS.3v2 and ZPS.6 slides.
