The G-Code Scorpion Soft Shell is a universal pistol mag carrier — it fits single stack, double stack, and even pistol caliber carbine magazines (think Sig MPX, CZ Scorpion EVO3) from the same pouch. You adjust retention with a cord and torsion plate system, so one carrier handles your 1911 single stack mags and your Glock 17 double stacks without buying separate Kydex pouches for each.
That’s the biggest practical advantage here. If you run different pistols across disciplines — say a 2011 in USPSA and a Glock in 3-Gun — you don’t need to reconfigure your belt every time. Dial retention once for your widest magazine, and everything thinner still holds with positive retention.
The “Tall” version covers more of the magazine body than the Short, which means stronger retention but slightly less magazine to grab during the draw. For competition use, that extra coverage matters if you’re running, going prone, or navigating obstacles where a mag could work loose. If speed on the draw is your only priority and you’re standing still at every reload, the Short version might be faster — but for multigun where you’re moving hard, the Tall is the safer bet.
At 3.3 oz, it’s one of the lighter universal options available. The Delrin-like nylon frame and TPV soft shell absorb no moisture, so they won’t gain weight in rain or humidity.
One thing to be aware of: this is the base carrier only — no mounting clip is included. You’ll need to purchase a G-Code P-series clip separately to actually mount it to your belt or MOLLE platform. For most competition belts, the P3 Misc. Belt Mount is the one you want.

The G-Code Scorpion Soft Shell Pistol Magazine Carrier (Tall) is a universal mag pouch designed to hold virtually any pistol magazine — single stack, double stack, 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP — from the same carrier with adjustable retention. It also accommodates pistol caliber carbine magazines like the Sig MPX, CZ Scorpion EVO3, and MP5.
The carrier uses a hybrid construction: a rigid Super-Tough Nylon exoskeleton frame paired with a TPV (thermoplastic vulcanizate) molded soft shell inner. Retention is adjusted via a cord and front torsion plate system that directs pressure along the length of the magazine. Tighten the cord for more hold, loosen it for faster draws. The flared opening on all four sides allows smooth, blind insertion during reloads.
The Tall version provides more magazine coverage than the Short variant, resulting in stronger retention at the cost of slightly less magazine body exposed for the draw. Both versions are ambidextrous and work for left or right-handed shooters without modification.
This is the base carrier — no mounting clip is included. G-Code’s P-series mounting clips attach via two screws into threaded brass inserts molded into the backplate, making swaps quick and tool-simple. Available mount options include the P1 MOLLE clip (for PALS webbing, cantable up to 15°, stackable on Rifle Scorpion carriers), P2 Operator Belt Mount (for G-Code 1.75″ belts), P3 Misc. Belt Mount (for most 1.75″ competition and duty belts), Belt Loop, and Cobra Paddle — all sold separately.
The carrier absorbs no moisture and gains no weight when wet. Weight: 3.3 oz. Backed by G-Code’s lifetime warranty. Made in the USA.
