Description
The Ruger RXM threaded barrel kit is the factory answer to putting a comp or suppressor on the RXM. It is a Ruger made 4.5 inch barrel with 1/2×28 threads that replaces the 4 inch barrel the pistol shipped with. Ruger states installation is quick with no gunsmithing required, and it publishes a PDF instruction sheet for the swap. Because it comes from Ruger, it holds the same tolerances as the barrel already in the gun.
Ruger lists the barrel as factory manufactured alloy steel with a black nitride finish, threaded 1/2×28 Class 2A. The kit includes a thread protector and a threaded barrel guide rod assembly, so you change the recoil assembly at the same time as the barrel; Ruger does not explain the reason, but the pairing is part of the kit. Ruger lists the kit as made in the USA. One thing to know: Ruger does not publish a twist rate or a warranty statement for the kit, and the barrel is alloy steel rather than the 416R stainless most aftermarket barrels use. The 1/2×28 pitch is the 9mm standard, so most muzzle devices fit without an adapter.
Fitment: Ruger states the kit is compatible with RXM pistols originally equipped with the 4 inch non-threaded barrel, which is the full size RXM. It is not listed for the RXM Compact, whose factory barrel is 3.88 inches. Ruger makes no claim about Glock fitment, so treat any Glock 19 use as unsupported. Ruger notes threaded barrels cannot ship to some states and cities because of feature based laws.

Who should skip it
If you want a stainless match barrel with a stated twist rate and a shorter overall length, the True Precision RXM threaded barrel on this site is 416R stainless at 4.5 inches overall and comes with an O-ring lock thread protector. If you own the RXM Compact, Ruger does not list this kit for it. USPSA Production and Carry Optics do not allow a threaded barrel with a device attached, so a comp on the RXM means Limited Optics, Open, PCSL or Tactical Games.
