Description
The Real Avid Master Sight Pusher is a bench tool for removing, installing and drifting press-fit dovetail pistol sights. Real Avid lists it as compatible with most striker-fired and 1911 pistols. USPSA and PCSL shooters use one to go to taller sights for a red dot or to center a rear sight after zeroing.
The slide is held between adjustable, non-marring contact surfaces that Real Avid states secure the slide without damaging it. A reversible metal press block does the pushing. Real Avid rates that block for any dovetail slot down to 5/32 in (4mm) wide and gives it a 60-degree face for the most common rear sight profiles. Extra-fine drive threads and an oversized Easy Torque handle supply the force, and a ridge on the base clamps into a bench vise. The trade-off: Real Avid does not publish a box contents list, dimensions or weight.
Fitment: Real Avid lists most striker-fired and 1911 pistols with press-fit dovetail sights in slots 5/32 in (4mm) wide or wider. It will NOT work on dovetails narrower than 5/32 in, and it will NOT move sights that are screwed in or held some other way instead of press-fit. Real Avid says “most” pistols, not all. Customer reports on Real Avid’s own product page say it will NOT work on the SIG P320, SIG P365, Smith & Wesson M&P Shield or Beretta M9, so treat those as not compatible and check Real Avid’s compatibility chart for any other slide before ordering.

Who should skip it
If every pistol in your safe is a Glock, the Real Avid Sight Pusher for Glock is built around that slide and adds a front sight nut driver in the handle. If you only change sights once, a gunsmith may be the cheaper route.
