Description
The Armorer’s Master Wrench is Real Avid’s multi-function AR15 wrench for the high torque jobs on the upper and stock. Real Avid lists five wrench functions plus an armorer’s hammer mode in one tool. For a competitor swapping barrels or snugging a castle nut, it replaces several single-purpose wrenches.
Real Avid lists a MIL-SPEC barrel nut wrench for Delta Ring style nuts, a free-float barrel nut wrench with a 10-post design, a castle nut wrench, and a dual muzzle brake wrench in 3/4 in and 5/8 in. The guide assigns 5/8 in to fixed stock receiver extensions. A 1/2 in torque wrench receiver sits in the head so you can read torque with your own wrench. Real Avid describes the body as a hardened stainless steel casting with an engineering grade resin handle. The hammer heads screw in to turn it into an armorer’s hammer: the product page names nylon, rubber and brass, and the user guide also lists a stainless steel head. Real Avid’s guide warns not to apply excessive torque and to stop using the wrench if its surfaces deform.
Fitment: Real Avid lists MIL-SPEC Delta Ring barrel nuts, free-float barrel nuts, and MIL-SPEC and aftermarket castle nut end plates on the AR15. It will NOT measure torque on its own (no torque wrench is included), and Real Avid does not list AR10 or .308 barrel nuts, or handguard nuts that call for a proprietary wrench.

Who should skip it
If you are starting a bench from nothing, the AR15 Armorer’s Master Kit includes this wrench plus vise blocks and punches. If your handguard ships with its own barrel nut wrench, you may not need it. For small screws such as scope rings, a Smart-Torq is the better tool.
