Frankford Arsenal Rotary Case Tumbler Lite

Who this is for
Competitive shooters who reload their own ammunition and want clean primer pockets and polished brass.
Action Gunner Take

The Rotary Case Tumbler Lite is Frankford Arsenal’s compact wet tumbler, built for reloaders running lower-volume batches or cleaning specialty cartridges. It holds up to 300 pieces of .223 brass (roughly half of what the full-size Platinum Series handles), which covers a solid match prep session for most competitive shooters.

Wet tumbling with stainless steel pins cleans primer pockets and flash holes in a way vibratory tumblers never will. If you’ve been running a dry media setup and wondering why your primer pockets still look rough, this is the upgrade that fixes it.

The direct-drive motor runs quietly and the clear cap lets you check progress without opening it up. The leak-proof seal works, though some users report minor seepage if the rubber gasket isn’t seated properly. Wetting both sides of the gasket before sealing helps.

One thing to know: stainless steel pins are not included. You’ll need to buy those separately, along with brass cleaning solution. Budget an extra $30-40 on top of the tumbler price to get running. Also, don’t confuse Frankford Arsenal’s “Brass Cleaning Solution” with their “Quick-N-EZ Brass Polish.” The polish is for dry tumblers only and will coat your brass in gray sludge if used wet.

For lower-volume reloaders, this is a solid entry point into wet tumbling. High-volume competitors loading 500+ rounds per session will want the full-size Platinum Series instead.

The Frankford Arsenal Rotary Case Tumbler Lite is a compact wet tumbler designed for cleaning and polishing brass cartridge cases during the reloading process. It uses water and stainless steel pins (sold separately) to clean the inside and outside of cases, including primer pockets and flash holes that dry vibratory tumblers can’t reach.

The drum holds 3.3 liters, enough for approximately 300 pieces of .223 Remington brass or roughly 150 pieces of larger calibers like .308 Winchester. A maintenance-free direct-drive electric motor spins the drum at a consistent speed without belts or gears to wear out. The twist-off cap includes a clear viewing window so you can monitor progress and a rubber gasket seal to prevent leaks.

For best results, run the tumbler for 1 to 2 hours with water, a small amount of brass cleaning solution, and a squirt of dish soap. Going beyond 2 hours with stainless steel pins can deform chamfered case mouths, which matters for precision reloaders concerned about neck tension. After tumbling, separate pins from brass using a media separator, rinse thoroughly, and dry completely before sizing or priming.

The tumbler operates on standard 110V household power with a simple on/off switch. An integrated carry handle on the cap makes transport easy when full.
