Description
The FastFire E is the first enclosed emitter optic in Burris’s FastFire line. The emitter sits behind a second lens inside a monolithic 7075 aluminum housing, so mud, rain, snow and brass cannot land on it and kill the dot. This is the red dot version. Burris rates it waterproof, shockproof and fogproof and builds it for pistols, shotguns and carbines.
The dot is 3.5 MOA with eight brightness settings, two of them night vision compatible, plus a brightness lock and button lockout so a holster or a bag cannot change your setting. It is always on. Burris lists 60,000 hours from one CR2032, and the battery loads from the side so you do not remove the optic or lose zero to change it. The window is 22x17mm with aspherical lenses, and windage and elevation each adjust through 100 MOA in 1 MOA clicks.
It mounts on the Aimpoint ACRO footprint with a clamp system and the included T10 tool. That footprint is direct-cut on a growing list of pistol slides and covered by plates and mounts for most others, including 1913 rail mounts for rifles and shotguns. Who it’s for
Carry Optics and Limited Optics shooters who want a closed emitter on a pistol slide, and multigun shooters who want one dot they can move between a pistol, a shotgun and a PCC on ACRO mounts. If your matches run in rain, dust or Minnesota winter, the closed emitter is the reason to pick this over an open FastFire.
Who should skip it
If you shoot with astigmatism, try a green and a red dot before you buy. Some eyes see one cleaner than the other. The green version is the same optic with a green emitter. If your slide is cut for RMR or RMSc and you do not want a plate, an open emitter in that footprint keeps the optic lower on the slide.
