Description
This is the gold PVD version of the Ballistic Advantage threaded barrel for the Glock 17 Gen 5. It is the same drop-in, non-fluted barrel as the black QPQ version with a 1/2×28 muzzle for a suppressor or compensator, and Ballistic Advantage states it is tested in complete factory pistols and needs no break-in. No fitting is required.
Ballistic Advantage machines it from hardened 416R stainless steel with a one in ten button-rifled twist and a SAAMI spec chamber, then applies a PVD gold coating over the QPQ treated steel. PVD is a thin, hard coating, and it will show wear at the hood and lugs faster than a plain nitride barrel does, so treat it as a color choice rather than a durability upgrade. A standard thread protector ships with the barrel.
Fitment: Glock 17 Gen 5 only. The Gen 5 barrel hood and lug profile differs from Gen 1 through 4, so it will not work in an earlier G17 slide. Ballistic Advantage does not guarantee fitment in aftermarket slides.

Who it’s for
Gen 5 G17 shooters who want the threaded muzzle plus a gold barrel showing through a slide window or cutout, typically Limited Optics, Open, PCSL, or Tactical Games guns where a comp is legal.
Who should skip it
If the color does not matter to you, the black QPQ version of this same barrel costs less and hides wear better. Gen 3 and Gen 4 G17 owners need a different barrel; see the Faxon Duty Series or Rival Arms Gen 3/4 options. USPSA Production and Carry Optics shooters cannot run a threaded barrel with a device attached, so the threads are only useful there if you leave the protector on.
