Description
The Ballistic Advantage threaded barrel is a drop-in replacement for the factory Glock 17 Gen 5 barrel with 1/2×28 threads for a suppressor or compensator. Ballistic Advantage builds it as a non-fluted barrel that keeps the factory profile, and the company states it is tested in complete factory pistols with no break-in period required. It installs like the stock barrel with no fitting.
Ballistic Advantage machines it from hardened 416R stainless steel, button rifles it with a one in ten twist, and finishes it in black QPQ, a nitride process the company says improves surface hardness and wear resistance. The bore is honed, lapped, and tumbled, and the chamber is cut to SAAMI spec. A standard thread protector ships with it. The 1/2×28 pitch is the common 9mm standard, so most muzzle devices and boosters fit without an adapter.
Fitment: Glock 17 Gen 5 only. The Gen 5 G17 barrel has a different hood and lug profile than Gen 1 through 4, so this barrel will not drop into an earlier G17 slide; Ballistic Advantage makes a separate Gen 3/4 version. Ballistic Advantage also states that fitment and performance cannot be guaranteed in aftermarket slides.
Pairs with: Strike Industries Mass Driver Compensator (Glock 17 Gen 5, 9mm, Guide Rod Mount, Black); Faxon EXOS-553 Compensator (Glock 17, 19, 34 Gen 5, 9mm, 1/2×28, Black).

Who it’s for
Gen 5 G17 owners who want a threaded muzzle for a can or comp at a lower cost than a match barrel, and PCSL or Tactical Games shooters who need threads on a full-size Glock.
Who should skip it
If your G17 is a Gen 3 or Gen 4, this will not fit; look at the Faxon Duty Series or Rival Arms Gen 3/4 barrels we carry instead. If you are already set on a SilencerCo can, the SilencerCo Gen 5 G17 barrel we carry is the same thread pitch and a comparable price point. And check your division: USPSA Production and Carry Optics do not allow a threaded barrel with a device attached, while Limited Optics and Open do.
