Description
The Griffin Armament Micro Carry Comp (Griffin abbreviates it MC²) is a small thread-on compensator that Griffin states adds “only a few tenths of an inch in length beyond a typical thread protector.” Griffin built it for concealed carry pistols, the goal being some muzzle control with almost no change to how the gun holsters or prints. It threads onto a 1/2×28 barrel, indexes against the barrel shoulder, and is torqued down using the built-in wrench flats. Griffin lists the torque at 8 foot-pounds. There are no shims, crush washer, or set screws. A 1/2×28 threaded barrel is required and is not included.
Griffin machines the comp from 17-4 stainless steel with a black nitride finish. The porting is what Griffin calls a “close dimensioned 17-4SS ported baffle face” rather than the usual top port layout; Griffin does not publish a port count. Because it seats against the shoulder instead of being timed with shims, installation is thread it on and torque it. It ships as the comp alone. Griffin does not publish recoil spring or ammunition guidance and does not publish a recoil reduction percentage.
Fitment: Griffin lists this standard 1/2×28 version for “standard, sub compact, compact, and full-size tilt-barrel firearms that have a normal profile of barrel,” and names the Glock 19, Glock 17, SIG P320, and Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0 as examples. It relies on a barrel shoulder to index, so Griffin directs owners of thin-barrel micro compacts (Glock 43, 43X, 42, 48, SIG P365, P365XL, Springfield Hellcat) to its separate “1/2×28 Special” version, which indexes off the muzzle face instead. This SKU is the standard version, not the Special. It will not fit M13.5×1 LH barrels; Griffin sells a separate part for that thread. Griffin lists it for 9mm only.
Matching threaded barrels: Ruger RXM Threaded Barrel Kit (4.5 in, 9mm, 1/2×28); True Precision Threaded Barrel (Ruger RXM, 9mm, 1/2×28, Black Nitride).

Who it’s for
Shooters running a threaded Glock 17 or 19, P320, or M&P who want the smallest possible comp for carry, PCSL 2-Gun, Tactical Games, or USPSA Limited Optics and Open.
Who should skip it
If you shoot a Glock 43, 43X, 48, P365, or Hellcat, this version will not index correctly; you want Griffin’s 1/2×28 Special, or a slide-specific comp such as the Zaffiri Blowhole for the 43X and 48. Griffin also makes this comp in M13.5×1 LH for CZ, HK, and Walther barrels. USPSA Production and Carry Optics do not allow compensators or threaded barrels with a device attached, and IDPA SSP and CO do not allow comps; IDPA CCP and ESP rules vary, so check the rulebook.
