Description
The Faxon EXOS-515 is a thread-on compensator with a body cut to the SIG P320 Full Size slide profile. It threads onto a 1/2×28 barrel, and Faxon retains it with thread locker on the barrel threads plus two 6-32 set screws that index the comp and stop it rotating. There is no shim or crush washer timing; the comp runs flush to the slide. A threaded barrel is required.
Faxon machines it from 6061 aluminum with a black anodized finish, and lists the weight at about 1.3 ounces. The port layout is a single chamber with three ports angled at 45 degrees. Faxon reports a 22 percent reduction in peak muzzle rise versus a bare threaded barrel in its own testing, from 24.0 degrees to 18.8 degrees. It adds 1.125 inches ahead of the slide on a Faxon barrel; the part itself measures 1.375 inches long, 1.054 inches wide, and 1.435 inches tall. The box includes the comp, thread locker, two 6-32 set screws, and a 1/16 inch hex wrench. Faxon says standard-pressure and +P loads usually run on the stock recoil spring, while light target loads may occasionally fail to lock the slide back.
Fitment: Faxon lists the SIG P320 Full Size in 9mm as the engineered and tested platform. Faxon calls the P320 Compact and Carry “likely” because they share slide and barrel diameter, but they were not the test platform. X-Five, M17 and M18, and .40 and .45 versions are not verified. For non-Faxon barrels, Faxon recommends 0.600 inch or less of muzzle protrusion past the slide for a flush fit.

Who should skip it
Without a threaded barrel this comp has nothing to mount to; pair it with the threaded barrels we carry for the SIG P320. P320 Compact owners should note Faxon has not tested that slide, and the Backup Tactical P320 Compact comp in this batch is built for it. X-Five and M17 owners are outside Faxon’s verified list. Faxon says open-bottom holsters usually work with the added 1.125 inches while closed-toe holsters need cutting. USPSA Production and Carry Optics and IDPA SSP and CO do not allow compensators; IDPA CCP and ESP rules vary, so check the rulebook.
