Description
The Faxon EXOS-513 is a thread-on compensator with a body cut to match the Gen 3 Glock slide profile, which also covers Faxon’s own FX-19 pistol. It threads onto a 1/2×28 barrel and Faxon retains it with thread locker on the barrel threads plus two 6-32 set screws that index it and stop rotation. No crush washer or shims are involved; you run it flush to the slide and lock the screws. A threaded barrel is required.
Faxon machines it from 6061 aluminum with a black anodized finish, and it weighs about one ounce. The port layout is a single expansion chamber with three ports angled at 45 degrees. Faxon reports a 28 percent reduction in peak muzzle rise on a Gen 3 Glock 19 with 115 grain ammo in its own testing, and says it produced the tightest shot-to-shot spread of the comps it tested. It adds 1.125 inches ahead of the slide. The box includes the comp, thread locker, two 6-32 set screws, and a 1/16 inch hex wrench. Faxon’s guidance across the EXOS line is that standard-pressure and +P ammo usually cycle on the stock spring, while light target loads may need a lighter one.
Fitment: Faxon lists the Gen 3 Glock 17, 19, and 34 in 9mm and the Faxon FX-19. It will not fit Gen 4 (Faxon points to the EXOS-543) or Gen 5 (EXOS-553), and it will not fit the 43X or 48. Faxon recommends 0.600 inch or less of muzzle protrusion past the slide for a flush fit on non-Faxon barrels. Many Gen 3 pattern aftermarket slides share the Gen 3 nose profile, but Faxon only names its own FX-19, so check yours.

Who should skip it
No threaded barrel means no EXOS-513; pair it with the threaded barrels we carry for the Gen 3 Glock 17 and 19, or choose the Strike Industries Mass Driver for Gen 3, which mounts on the guide rod instead. Gen 4 and Gen 5 owners need the EXOS-543 or EXOS-553. Faxon notes most standard holsters need modification for the added 1.125 inches. USPSA Production and Carry Optics and IDPA SSP and CO do not allow compensators; IDPA CCP and ESP rules vary, so check the rulebook.
