Description
The Rival Arms 9mm conversion barrel for the Glock 23 turns a .40 S&W Gen 3 or Gen 4 G23 into a 9mm with a barrel swap. It carries 1/2×28 threads for a compensator or suppressor and a black PVD finish. Rival Arms lists it as a drop-in part with no gunsmith needed. The .40 slide, extractor, and ejector will usually run 9mm, though some shooters add a 9mm ejector for cleaner brass throw. Rival Arms states you also need a 9mm magazine, meaning Glock 19 mags, to finish the conversion.
Rival Arms machines the barrel from 416R stainless steel billet with a 6 groove, 1:10 twist bore and a target crowned muzzle. The exterior is fluted and gets a low-temperature vacuum PVD coat; the bore gets Rival’s BORSLICK boron nitride treatment. Rival builds and sources everything in the USA and lists a limited lifetime warranty. Retailers list the length at 4.02 inches, which is the factory G23 length plus threads.
Fitment: Rival Arms and its retailers list this barrel (part RA20G512A) for the Glock 23 Gen 3 and Gen 4. It is not listed for the Gen 5 G23, which has a different hood and lug profile. It will not fit the Glock 22 (Rival makes a full-size version in this batch), the Glock 19, or the Glock 27. Because this is a caliber conversion, you must use Glock 19 9mm magazines; .40 magazines will not feed 9mm reliably.
Pairs with: True Precision S Micro Compensator (1/2×28, 9mm, Black DLC); True Precision Cobra Micro Compensator (1/2×28, 9mm, Black Nitride).

Who it’s for
Owners of a Gen 3 or Gen 4 Glock 23 who want a cheaper 9mm practice or match gun out of a pistol they already own, and PCSL or Tactical Games shooters who want a threaded compact Glock in 9mm.
Who should skip it
If you have a Gen 5 Glock 23, this barrel is not listed for it. If you shoot a Glock 22, use the Rival Arms G22 conversion barrel in this batch. If you already own a Glock 19, the Ballistic Advantage or Faxon Match Glock 19 threaded barrels are the simpler buy. One thing to know: a converted G23 keeps its .40 breech face and extractor, so run a box of your match ammo through it to confirm ejection before a match. USPSA Production and Carry Optics do not allow a threaded barrel with a device attached; Limited Optics, Open, PCSL, and Tactical Games do.
