Description
The Faxon Match Series straight fluted threaded barrel is a drop-in upgrade for the 9mm S&W M&P Shield and Shield Plus that adds 1/2×28 muzzle threads for a suppressor or compensator. Faxon lists it as a drop-in part, so it replaces the factory barrel without fitting. The straight flutes cut a little weight and give the barrel a different look from the stock one when the slide is locked back.
Faxon machines it from stress-relieved 416R stainless steel, button-rifles it with a conventional 1:10 twist, cuts a SAAMI 9mm chamber and finishes the muzzle with an 11 degree target crown. The whole barrel gets salt bath nitride inside and out. Faxon builds it in Cincinnati, Ohio and covers it with the Faxon Lifetime Guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship. One thing to know: Faxon lists it at 3.66 in overall, so you get roughly half an inch of thread past the slide on a 3.1 in gun; plan for a slim comp or a rimfire-sized thread protector rather than a long device on a carry pistol.
Fitment: Faxon lists this barrel for the M&P Shield 1.0, Shield 2.0 and Shield Plus in 9mm with the 3.1 in barrel. It is 9mm only; it does not fit the 40 S&W or 45 ACP Shields. It is not for the longer 4 in Shield Plus Performance Center models. Faxon states it is not compatible with pistols that have a Loaded Chamber Indicator lever, such as California-compliant variants.

Who it’s for
Shield and Shield Plus owners who want a match-grade threaded barrel for a suppressor host or a comped PCSL and Tactical Games gun, and shooters who want a nitrided 416R bore with a target crown in a carry-size pistol.
Who should skip it
If you own a 40 S&W Shield, a 45 Shield, or a 4 in Shield Plus, this will not fit. If you do not need threads and just want the Match Series bore, Faxon sells the same barrel non-threaded (MPB910NSSOQ-N). Since Faxon does not list a thread protector with the barrel, plan to add a 1/2×28 protector such as the GrovTec or Backup Tactical Frag we carry. USPSA Production and Carry Optics do not allow a threaded barrel with a device attached, so a comped Shield belongs in Limited Optics or Open.
