Description

The Geissele SSA is a two-stage, non-adjustable AR-15 trigger built as the semi-auto only version of the Super Select-Fire trigger. Geissele rates the pull at 4.25 to 4.75 lb total, split into a 2.75 to 3 lb first stage and a 1.5 to 1.75 lb second stage. That first stage gives you take-up you can feel before a clean, short break, so it stays forgiving under stress without going mushy.

It drops into any mil-spec AR-15 or AR-10 lower with standard .154 in trigger and hammer pins. The trigger and hammer are wire EDM cut from tool steel, and it runs a full-power hammer spring for reliable ignition on hard primers. The bow is the M4 curved profile. Geissele sells replacement spring kits and pins separately. Install takes the usual two pins and a punch.

Heads up: This is the mil-spec pin version. Colt lowers made from 1990 to 2009 use .170 in large pins and need the SSA Large Pin (05-123) instead.

Who it’s for

Shooters who want one trigger for a carbine that pulls double duty, such as a Tactical Games rifle, a home defense gun, or a rifle that sees both matches and training classes. The 4.5 lb two-stage pull is the safe middle ground.

Who should skip it

If your rifle is a dedicated 3-Gun or match gun, the 4.5 lb pull will feel heavy next to the field. The SSA-E drops the second stage to about a pound for a 3.5 lb total, and the S3G is the pick for pure speed. Budget builders get the same feel for less with the G2S.
