Description
The True Precision True-Lock is a compensator shaped to the Springfield Hellcat and Hellcat Pro slide. True Precision built it around what they call an integrated locking block: the comp threads onto a 1/2×28 barrel, then a locking block clamps against the barrel threads and is secured with the supplied hardware. True Precision states this holds the comp in place “without damaging your barrel or needing thread-locking compounds,” and there are no set screws driven into the barrel. A 1/2×28 threaded Hellcat barrel is required and is not included; True Precision recommends its own threaded barrels, and the threaded barrels we carry for the Hellcat (Springfield OEM and True Precision) are the matching parts.
True Precision machines the body from USA-sourced 7075 T6 billet aluminum and finishes it in MIL-SPEC Type III hard-coat anodize, black on this version. The company describes the porting as a “6-to-1 port-to-bore ratio” rather than a port count. Listed dimensions are 1.459 inches long, 0.861 inch wide, and 1.293 inches tall, at 1.2 ounces, so it adds about an inch and a half to the muzzle. The kit ships with the compensator body, locking block, locking block screw, locking set screw, and two Allen keys. On ammunition, True Precision says the design is meant to work “for all ammunition types” but also lists optional recoil spring tuning kits it recommends for lighter loads; the company does not publish a spring weight, so treat spring tuning as something to test with your ammo.
Fitment: True Precision lists the Springfield Hellcat and Hellcat Pro (9mm) with a 1/2×28 threaded barrel. The comp is contoured to the Hellcat slide profile, so it is not a general purpose 1/2×28 comp for other pistols. True Precision does not list the Hellcat RDP, which already ships with a factory compensator and barrel. It will not fit a Hellcat with the factory unthreaded barrel. Expect to need an open-bottom holster or one cut for a comped Hellcat.
Matching threaded barrels: True Precision Threaded Barrel (Springfield Hellcat, 9mm, 1/2×28, Black Nitride).

Who it’s for
Hellcat and Hellcat Pro owners who carry or shoot matches with a threaded barrel and want a comp that looks like part of the slide. It fits USPSA Limited Optics and Open, PCSL 2-Gun, and Tactical Games.
Who should skip it
If your Hellcat still has the factory barrel, budget for a 1/2×28 threaded barrel first, or this comp has nothing to mount to. If you would rather keep the muzzle short, the True Precision Cobra micro comp or the Griffin Micro Carry Comp (Griffin points Hellcat owners to its “1/2×28 Special” version) add less length on the same threaded barrel. USPSA Production and Carry Optics and IDPA SSP and CO do not allow compensators; IDPA CCP and ESP rules vary, so check before you install.
