Description
The Timney Alpha Competition Series trigger for Gen 6 Glocks is Timney’s drop-in match trigger built for the Gen 6 fire control group. Timney lists the same three pound factory pull as the earlier Alphas and says the trigger “does not sacrifice any part of the Glock reliability.” What is new on the Gen 6 kit is a snap-in housing: Timney states the sear module snaps into the factory trigger mechanism housing for tool-free installation of the module, and Shoot On’s install write-up confirms there is no C washer or button-head screw to fit. You still need punches or a Glock armorer tool to pull the frame pins and remove the factory trigger and bar. Timney states the kit “uses all stock Glock parts and springs,” so the factory trigger housing, connector, striker and striker spring stay in the gun.
Timney lists a three pound pull weight and a crisp break. Shoot On measured about two pounds nine ounces on a G17 Gen 6 with shorter sear travel and a shorter reset than the factory trigger. The shoe is machined aluminum with a flat face; this Red version has a black shoe with a red external safety blade and color-matched sear. The trigger bar and sear are Teflon nickel (NP3) plated to reduce friction. Retailers list the box as the flat face aluminum trigger with external blade safety, the color-matched sear module and return springs (Shoot On notes two, a natural and a heavier red one). Shoot On reports all factory safeties are retained. Timney states the trigger is intended for competition use only and is only compatible with stock Glock pistols.
Fitment: Gen 6 Glock pistols in 9mm and .40 S&W. Timney does not publish a model list for Gen 6; Shoot On installed it in a G17 Gen 6. It will not fit Gen 5, Gen 4 or Gen 3 pistols, which use different trigger housings and bars (Timney sells separate Alphas for each). GlockStore states it will not work with single stack (slimline) or large frame 10mm and .45 Glocks. Timney states it is only compatible with stock Glock pistols. MOS or optic cut slides do not change fitment.
Also in the Pro Shop: CMC drop-in for Gen 5 and Gen 6, and threaded barrels for Glock.

Who it’s for
USPSA Carry Optics, Limited Optics and Open shooters who bought a Gen 6 G17 or other Gen 6 9mm or .40 pistol and want a three pound flat trigger without swapping the housing, and PCSL or Tactical Games competitors on a Gen 6 gun.
Who should skip it
If your gun is Gen 5, Gen 4 or Gen 3, this kit will not fit; the Gen 5 and Gen 3 and Gen 4 Alphas are on this site in black and red. Slimline and large frame owners are not covered by any Gen 6 Alpha. Timney labels this a competition trigger for stock pistols; a trigger that breaks under three pounds is not a duty or carry trigger, and many departments and some instructors say no. Shooters who want a factory part should watch for Glock’s own Performance Trigger in Gen 6 fitment. USPSA Production and Carry Optics allow aftermarket triggers, bars, connectors and springs with no minimum pull weight, as long as the trigger safety still works and the pistol is on the approved list; Limited, Limited Optics and Open have no trigger rules. IDPA SSP allows internal trigger work but no visible external changes, so an aftermarket shoe is out; IDPA ESP, CCP and CO allow replacement triggers but not add-on trigger shoes. Read the current rulebook before a major.
