Description
The Springfield Armory Hellcat threaded barrel kit turns a standard 3 in Hellcat into a comped micro nine with factory parts. Springfield built it as a drop-in: the 3.8 in threaded barrel replaces the stock barrel, and the compensator spins on and self-indexes, so you do not need shims or a wrench to clock it. Springfield says the comp helps reduce muzzle rise and perceived recoil, and the self-indexing design is patent pending.
Springfield lists the barrel with a black Melonite finish, a 1:10 twist, and 1/2×28 muzzle threads, the standard pitch for 9mm devices. The compensator is machined from aluminum and anodized matte black. A thread protector is included for running the barrel without the comp. One thing to know: a comp on a 3 in gun adds length to the slide profile, so check your holster before you count on carrying it that way. Springfield restricts sales of this kit to several states, so check your ship-to address.
Fitment: Springfield states this kit is for use in any 3 in Hellcat pistol configuration, standard models only, including OSP and RDP variants of the 3 in gun. It will NOT fit the Hellcat Pro; Springfield makes a separate 4.4 in threaded barrel for that gun (HCP0901TB-KIT). It also does not fit the California-specific Hellcat (HC9319BOSPCA). The 3.8 in figure is the length of the threaded barrel, not the pistol it fits.

Who should skip it
Hellcat Pro owners: this will not fit; you need Springfield’s 4.4 in Pro kit or the True Precision Hellcat Pro barrel. If you only want a threaded barrel with no comp, the True Precision Hellcat barrel we carry is a match-grade 416R option with a thread protector included. USPSA Production and Carry Optics do not allow a threaded barrel with a device attached, so this comp setup would put a Hellcat in Limited Optics or Open.
