Description

The Radian Afterburner and Ramjet for the Glock 19 Gen 4 is a matched barrel and compensator set sold together. Radian designed it so a G19 can run a compensator without a threaded barrel: the Ramjet barrel has no threads at all. Radian’s Intra-Lok mount uses a tapered locking screw in the Afterburner that seats into an angled V-groove on the bottom of the barrel. Install is a barrel swap. Pull the factory barrel, drop in the Ramjet, reinstall your recoil spring assembly, slide the Afterburner over the muzzle, and torque the screw to 15 inch pounds per Radian’s instructions. No shims, crush washer, or thread locker. Loosen one screw and the comp comes off for cleaning.

The Ramjet is a fluted, match grade barrel in 416R stainless steel with a gas sealing chamber and a loaded chamber indicator cut. Radian’s listing for this part number describes the Afterburner as 17-4 stainless steel, and both pieces carry a black diamond like carbon coating. The comp vents through one top port and has no side ports. Radian lists the Afterburner at 0.47 inch long, which brings a G19 slide out to Glock 17 length so it fits open bottom G17 holsters. Radian claims up to 44 percent recoil reduction with 115 grain ammunition. Radian’s stated design goal was reliable cycling with the stock recoil spring; Radian also sells a Compressor guide rod with 13, 15, and 18 pound springs for tuning. The box holds the barrel, the comp, the Intra-Lok screw, and a Torx bit.

Fitment: Radian lists this version for the Glock 19 Gen 4 only. Radian sells a separate Gen 3 version and separate Gen 5 and Gen 6 versions, so buy by generation and do not assume a Gen 3 or Gen 5 Ramjet will drop into a Gen 4 slide. It will not fit a G17, G19X, or G45. Radian states fitment for factory Glock slides and does not publish an approved list of aftermarket slides. The Afterburner only mounts to a Ramjet barrel.

Who it’s for

Gen 4 G19 owners shooting USPSA Limited Optics or Open, PCSL 2-Gun, or Tactical Games who want a tool free compensator that keeps the pistol at G17 holster length.

Who should skip it

If your G19 is a Gen 3 or Gen 5, buy the matching Radian version instead; the generations are separate SKUs. If you already run a threaded Gen 3/4 barrel, the Strike Industries Mass Driver or Faxon EXOS for Gen 3 pattern slides is the cheaper route. Division rules: USPSA Production and Carry Optics do not allow a compensator, and IDPA SSP and CO do not either; IDPA CCP and ESP vary, so check the rulebook.
