Description
The Radian Afterburner and Ramjet for the Glock 17 Gen 5 is a matched barrel and micro compensator set, sold together, in Radian’s bronze colorway. Radian built the system so a stock Glock can run a compensator with no threaded barrel. The Ramjet has no threads. Radian’s Intra-Lok mount uses a tapered locking screw in the Afterburner that seats into an angled V-groove under the barrel, which times the comp and holds it without thread locker. Install is a barrel swap: pull the factory barrel, drop in the Ramjet, reinstall the recoil spring assembly, slide the Afterburner on, and torque the screw to 15 inch pounds per Radian’s instructions. No shims or crush washer. One screw releases the comp for cleaning.
The Ramjet is a fluted, match grade barrel in hardened 416R stainless steel with a gas sealing chamber and a loaded chamber indicator cut. The Afterburner is hardened stainless steel. Both carry Radian’s Radianite coating in a bronze and black two tone. Gas vents through one top port, no side ports. Radian lists the added length at 0.47 inch, which takes a G17 slide out to Glock 34 length so it fits open bottom G34 holsters. Radian’s copy for the G17 version says it is engineered for 124 grain and heavier 9mm, and Radian’s stated design goal for the system was reliable cycling with the stock recoil spring. Radian also sells a Compressor guide rod with 13, 15, and 18 pound springs for tuning. Included: Ramjet barrel, Afterburner, Intra-Lok tapered screw, and a Torx bit.
Fitment: Radian lists this version for the Glock 17 Gen 5, Glock 47, and Glock 49, which share the Gen 5 G17 length barrel. MOS slides are fine. It will not fit a Gen 3 or Gen 4 G17 (different barrel hood and lug profile), will not fit a G19, 19X, or 45 (shorter barrel; Radian sells a separate G19 Gen 5 version), and will not fit a G34. Radian states fitment for factory Glock slides and publishes no list of approved aftermarket slides. The Afterburner only mounts to a Ramjet barrel.

Who it’s for
Gen 5 G17, G47, or G49 shooters in USPSA Limited Optics or Open, PCSL 2-Gun, and Tactical Games who want a compensator that installs and removes with one screw and rides in a G34 length holster.
Who should skip it
If your G17 is Gen 3 or Gen 4, this will not fit; Radian does not list an older generation G17 version, so pair one of the threaded barrels we carry for the Glock 17 with a thread on comp like the Strike Industries Mass Driver for the G17 instead. If you mostly shoot 115 grain practice ammo, note Radian’s 124 grain and heavier guidance for this version. Division rules: USPSA Production and Carry Optics do not allow a compensator, and IDPA SSP and CO do not either; IDPA CCP and ESP vary, so check the rulebook.
