Description
A replacement operating spring for the JP Silent Captured Spring (SCS) in AR-15 rifles. JP sells the SCS springs in five AR-15 rates, color coded from lightest to heaviest: 15-80 (white), 15-85 (black), 15-90 (green), 15-95 (yellow) and 15-100 (no color). This is the 15-80, the lightest rate.
JP’s guidance: if the bolt is not reliably catching on the bolt catch after the last round, go lighter; if the bolt is over-compressing the spring, go heavier. Changing springs is a disassembly and reassembly of the SCS, not a new unit. JP lists these springs as compatible with both first generation and Gen 2 Silent Captured Springs.
