The JP Firing Pin Retainer Pin is a cotter-style retaining pin for an AR-15 bolt carrier, sized for .223/5.56 carriers. It holds the firing pin in place inside the carrier and is removed and reinstalled whenever the bolt is disassembled for cleaning.
This is a standard replacement part. It installs during normal bolt carrier group reassembly and requires no modification. Because it is small and handled often, it is a sensible spare to keep on hand.
