Hearing protection only works if it stays in and seals. Foam plugs back out, and generic flanged plugs fit some ears and not others. Decibullz takes a different route: the thermoplastic earpiece is heated in boiling water, then pressed into the ear, where it cools into a shape molded to that specific ear canal and bowl.
That custom shape is the point. A plug that fits the ear it was molded to tends to stay seated through movement, recoil, and a full match day, and a consistent seal is what holds the rating. Decibullz lists an independently tested NRR of 31 with the foam tips installed, dropping to 25 with single flange tips, so the tip choice matters. If the first mold is not right, the earpiece reheats and remolds.
Two things to know. This is a passive plug that blocks sound across the board, so it does not preserve range commands or conversation the way an electronic muff or an impulse filter does. And the molding step takes a few minutes and some patience the first time. For a shooter who wants a low-profile plug that seals and stays put under a muff or on its own, the trade is straightforward.

The Decibullz Custom Molded Earplugs are reusable, passive hearing protection that the user shapes to the contour of their own ear. The thermoplastic earpieces are heated in boiling water for about five minutes, then placed in the ear and held until they cool and set. Decibullz calls this the Easy Shape system, and the earpieces can be reheated and remolded if the first fit is off.
The custom fit is built to create a consistent seal that stays seated during movement and does not work loose like foam plugs. Decibullz lists an independently lab-tested Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 31 decibels with the included foam tips, and 25 decibels when the single flange tips are used instead. The company states the plugs meet ANSI S3.19. These are passive earplugs with no electronics and no batteries, so they reduce sound across the board rather than amplifying or filtering it.
The set ships with two thermoplastic Thermofit earpieces, foam tips, multiple sizes of triple flange silicone tips, and a carrying pouch. Made for shooting, range use, travel, and high-noise work environments.
