Description
The XTR PS is Burris’s electronic precision scope. Optically it is a 3.3-18×50 first focal plane scope on a 34mm tube with ED glass, an illuminated SCR 2 MIL reticle, and side focus that parallaxes down to 25 yards. What sets it apart is the elevation turret and the display behind the glass.
The PEK elevation knob has no clicks. A digital position sensor reads the turret to 1/30 mil and the scope shows your dialed elevation in a heads-up display inside the eyepiece, along with a digital level, wind hold, angle compensation, density altitude correction, battery status and a countdown timer. Load a ballistic profile through the BurrisConnect app and the display reads dial-to-distance: turn the knob until it shows the range, and you are on. Burris lists 35 mil of total elevation, more than 19 mil per rotation, and a zero stop. Windage is a conventional 1/10 mil turret with 15 mil of travel. It runs on one CR123A.
Burris lists it at 35.2 ounces and 13.3 inches, 90 to 88mm of eye relief, and 36 to 6.7 feet of field of view at 100 yards. The body is 6061-T6 aluminum. We will add our own range notes after time behind a demo unit.

Who it’s for
Tactical Games and multigun shooters who shoot unknown-distance rifle stages under a clock. 18x is enough for the long targets, 3.3x is workable up close, and the display puts the dialed range and a level in the sight picture so you are not looking away from the target to check a turret or a bubble. Also a fit for PRS shooters who want a level and dial-to-distance without bolting on accessories.
Who should skip it
If you want a scope with no battery dependence for its core function, this is not it. The glass works without power, but the elevation readout does not. The Burris XTR III 3.3-18×50 gives you the same optical package with a conventional clicking turret for less money. If your matches top out at 300 yards, a 1-8 or 1-10 LPVO saves a pound and a half.
