Description
The Real Avid Viz-Max Bore Sighter is a green laser bore sighter that attaches to the muzzle with a magnet instead of a caliber-specific arbor or chamber cartridge. The job is getting a new optic close enough that the first rounds land on paper. PRS and 3-Gun riflemen and Tactical Games competitors use this step when mounting or moving an optic.
Real Avid lists a factory-calibrated Class IIIa laser module at 515nm (green), with peak output under 5mW, and states green gives better daylight visibility. It runs on two AAA batteries with tool-free battery replacement and shuts itself off after 30 minutes. Real Avid describes a machined aluminum housing with a protective exoskeleton, water-resistant sealed construction, and an effective range of 25 yards under standard conditions. In the high-density foam case, Real Avid lists the bore sighter, a chamber safety flag that also protects the magnet, calibrated centering rings for bore alignment, and reflective target components. Like any bore sighter, it gets you close; the final zero still comes from shooting groups.
Fitment: Real Avid states it is compatible with steel barrel surfaces that have a flat muzzle face. It will NOT hold on a muzzle that is not steel or that lacks a flat face, and Real Avid does not state compatibility with muzzle brakes, compensators, flash hiders or suppressors, so plan on removing a device if it covers the muzzle. It will NOT replace a live-fire zero, and Real Avid rates its effective range at 25 yards.
