Description
The XTR III is Burris’s conventional precision scope: the same 3.3-18×50 first focal plane optical package as the XTR PS, with a clicking turret and no electronics beyond reticle illumination. This is the 201204 version with the SCR 2 MIL reticle, 1/10 mil clicks and 11 red and 11 green illumination settings.
The elevation turret gives 35 mil of total travel with a Zero Click Stop, so you can dial back to your zero by feel without looking, and windage has 16 mil. Parallax adjusts from 25 yards to infinity on the side focus. Burris lists it at 29.8 ounces and 13.3 inches with 3.5 to 4 inches of eye relief, which is 5.4 ounces lighter than the XTR PS in the same size. Glass is index-matched with Hi-Lume multicoating. Illumination runs on a CR2032. Burris covers it with the Forever Warranty.

Who it’s for
Tactical Games, multigun and PRS shooters who want the 3.3-18 range on a 34mm tube with a proper zero stop, and who would rather spend the difference from the XTR PS on ammo, a mount, or a level. Nothing on it needs a battery except the reticle glow.
Who should skip it
If you want your dialed range, a level and your wind hold shown in the eyepiece, that is what the XTR PS 3.3-18×50 adds for the extra money. If you shoot MOA, the 201203 is the same scope with an SCR MOA reticle and 1/4 MOA clicks.
