Description
The P211-GTO is SIG’s factory double-stack 1911 in 9mm, and this is the standard black version. It runs a 4.4 inch bull barrel with SIG’s MACH3D compensator attached, on a stainless steel frame and slide finished in Nitron. The grip module is alloy with G10 panels, and the dust cover is full length with a 1913 rail.
SIG lists it at 45.9 ounces, 8.5 inches long and 1.48 inches wide. The slide carries the SIG-LOC PRO optic cut, so a red dot mounts direct without a plate, and it ships with a fiber optic front sight and a fixed black rear. The trigger is a flat skeletonized, straight-pull 1911 trigger. It has a grip safety and ambidextrous thumb safeties. It comes with three P320-pattern steel magazines: one 23-round and two 21-round.
Compared with the P211-GTO Nightshift, this is the same pistol in black Nitron instead of Platinum Cerakote and Burnt Titanium controls, at a lower price.

Who it’s for
USPSA Open shooters, and multigun shooters who run their pistol in an open configuration. A comp, a direct-mount optic cut, a heavy steel frame and 21-plus rounds is the Open recipe, and this version gets you there for a couple hundred less than the Nightshift.
Who should skip it
Carry Optics and Limited Optics shooters. The compensator is not legal in those divisions. It is also a lot of gun for someone new to a 1911 manual of arms.
