Description
The Strike Industries Lightweight Forward Assist swaps the round steel plunger on your AR-15 upper for an aluminum one shaped like Strike’s triangle logo. The point is weight and grip. Strike specs the whole assembly at 0.2 oz, and the triangular face gives your palm three flat edges to push on instead of a slick round button, which matters with gloves on. This is the black anodized version.
The plunger is aluminum, and the pawl that actually pushes the bolt carrier is tool steel, so the wear part is still steel. It comes pre-assembled: plunger, pawl, and spring are already together, and the spring pin is in the bag. Drive out the old roll pin, pull the factory forward assist, drop this one in, and drive in the new pin. It fits any mil-spec AR-15 upper with a standard forward assist housing.

If you lean on the forward assist often or want an all-steel part, the Strike Industries Steel Hex Forward Assist we carry is carbon steel for two dollars less. If you never touch your forward assist, the factory part is fine and you can put the money into a trigger.
