2025 SIG Sauer “BATTLE FOR THE SOUTH” 2-Gun Challenge Presented by Vortex Optics at Gryphon Group

The first annual Sig Sauer “Battle for the South” 2-Gun Challenge, presented by Vortex Optics and hosted by Zoo City Armory, kicks off in March 2025. This two-day event promises a challenging and fun experience for competitors of all skill levels. With 8 innovative stages, diverse divisions, and an exciting prize table, it’s set to be a standout event on the 2025 competition calendar.

Event Overview

The Battle for the South is designed to test precision, speed, and versatility across 8 stages that make full use of the Gryphon Group Security Solutions’ premier facilities. Whether navigating jungle runs, unique bay stages, or tackling long-range shots out to 300–400 yards, shooters will face dynamic challenges.

Key Features:

• 8 stages blending jungle runs, natural terrain, and bay designs
• Round Count: 250 pistol, 250 rifle
• Long-Range Targets: 4-5 MOA for balanced difficulty
• Some stages may require a rifle sling

Divisions

The match divisions include:

• Competition 2 Gun Open: Rifle (5.45/.223-5.56 or larger), Pistol (9mm or larger)
• Heavy 2 Gun Open: Rifle (.308), Pistol (.40 or .45 ACP)
• AK 2 Gun Open: AK-pattern Rifle (5.45 or larger), Pistol (9mm or larger)
• PCC 2 Gun Open: Pistol-Caliber Carbine (9mm or larger), Pistol (9mm or larger)
• Duty 2 Gun Open: Rifle (5.56/.223, non-magnified red dot optics; magnifiers allowed), Pistol (9mm or larger)

Important Ammo Note: No steel core ammo is allowed.

Match Format

• Schedule:
  • AM/PM Squadding:
    • Squads 1–8: AM Saturday, PM Sunday
    • Squads 9–16: PM Saturday, AM Sunday
  • For squadding requests, email Buddy Brown at matchregister@gmail.com.
• Prize Table:
  • The top 35% of competitors in each division will qualify for the prize table in order of their finish.
  • Divisions with fewer than 5 competitors will not qualify for awards or the prize table.

• Match T-Shirt Deadline: Register by March 5, 2025, to receive an official match T-shirt.
